The instructors were absolutely top notch. They are highly skilled in their respective discipline, and they are also incredibly patient and dedicated to helping every student reach their full potential. My 8 year old son has been coming to Rockstar for several weeks now and we could not be more pleased with the results and his experience! It has gone so well that my 5 year old is now enrolled after watching his brother have so much fun and do so well. They are both special needs and I was worried when we started and not sure if this would be right for their development. The team there is absolutely fantastic and makes the kiddos feel welcome before they even arrive for the first trial class. My sons love the coach and highly respect him. The skills, lessons, and confidence building that is happening will have a very positive, long term effect on their lives. I’m so happy to have found this wonderful place!
Our 4 year old has been going here for almost a year and loves it! He adores Coach Matheus, and he genuinely listens to him (and admires him as much as a 4 year old is capable of expressing). We have noticed quite a difference in his coordination abilities just from the warm ups and obstacle courses they have before and after class techniques. Update: Here we are at 5.5 years old, and our kiddo is still loving class. The look on his face when he does a takedown is so proud! I also forgot to mention Coach has called us or taken us aside at class to talk about progress several time-thats pretty awesome considering how many kids he has. can’t wait to get our 2.5 year old enrolled as soon as she is old enough!
My son and I have both been training here and we love it! Muhammad absolutely loves the kids classes. The coaches are very kid friendly and give each kid attention based off of their needs. We have seen him become more confident as a child and comfortable with exercises. Even on days where there are no classes for him, he asks to come to Rockstar! As a parent, if you are bringing your child to Jujitsu… you should try it to! Coach Matheus is amazing! Super accommodating and caring! The gym has a family vibe where everyone knows and care for one another and this come from the mindset and teaching of Coach Matheus. This location is very good in size and always clean. You can smell it as soon as you walk in! When I first started I didn’t think Jujitsu was for me. I was old and heavy… however it has become a huge part of me. My children began Jiu Jitsu at Rockstar as a way to get some energy out of their little bodies. Based on how much they enjoyed the classes, I decided to join the evening Muay Thai Kickboxing classes. I decided to write this review because Rockstar North Frisco has really changed my family dynamic. I think we all allow daily stressors to negatively impact our family life, and it doesn't have to be that way. I am a working mom who deals with adult "children" daily at work, and I know my daughter can deal with a mean little girl or two at school. Rockstar has given us a way to get rid of the negativity in a positive way. We come home happier, and we even installed a punching bag at home. One morning, my daughter even snuck into the workout room, and I found her kicking up a storm. After she was done and sweaty, she said, "Mommy, I feel better now." Seeing her smile and exercising while getting rid of bad energy just made me happier. The people who run Rockstar are the Rockstars themselves. Thank you to them for allowing us this opportunity.
Our 10 year old son has tried literally every organized sport there is with little to no enjoyment. We tried RockStar Martial Arts on the recommendation from a friend and we could NOT be any happier. I LOVE Rockstar!! 3 years ago, my daughter found Rockstar by searching online looking for kickboxing and in interesting sport. She did the Muay Thai trial class and loved it! She started our 2x's a week then 4x's week and on Saturdays!! And she stepped out of comfort zones to try Jiu Jitsu and found her passion. Rockstar owners Shiva and James are great mentors to her and she learned valuable leadership skills that will take her a long way. Most importantly, Coach Matheus has been an awesome mentor and trainer!! She's built more self esteem, strength, courage and discipline from being a part of the Rockstar Family. We switched martial arts studios after realizing that our kids just weren't advancing like we wanted them to. We didn't want a place where our children were just given belts. We don't believe in participation trophies. We wanted our kids to feel what it is like to have all their hard work rewarded all while having fun and learning martial arts and self defense in a fun, disciplined, structured and organized setting. Let me just say we thought it would be impossible to find in Frisco! But we hit the jackpot with Rockstar Martial Arts!!! We are so lucky and so glad that we switched when we did. Our kids are flourishing. They have excelled in so many ways-not only at the martial arts studio but at home and in school. They have more confidence and self respect and self esteem. The coaches are so patient and knowledgeable, you can tell they care so much about all the students and the studio.
My son started Jiu Jitsu 2 years ago at the age of 12. He was nervous at first but quickly made many friends and looked forward to his next training sessions. He has gained so much confidence in himself and has become more conscience of his health and eating habits. Since starting Jiu Jitsu, he has not gained a pound of weight for the last 2 years. He is leaner, stronger and quicker. I highly recommend competing in tournaments.They are so much fun and don't involve hitting or kicking. Best of all coach Matheus is a master of teaching kids the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu with professional techniques and above all patience with any age and belt level.
My daughter LOVES her rockstars class. We started her here after she hated her soccer class lol the place is great and the staff is great. My few complaints that I dislike are:
1. The seating: very uncomfortable on my back since theres no back rest😬
2. They have classes back to back so the inside gets CROWDED from students/parents leaving and coming
3. No parking BECAUSE the different classes are back to back
4. Classes are only 30 minutes long, for the price, id want them to be at least 45-60mins
5. Kind of wish there was a little gate between the floor and the seating area so I could bring my toddler without him constantly trying to get into the class.
Overall, its a nice facility and we will stay at least until the remaining of the contract.
I have been with Rockstar for almost a year now & can confidently attest to their Jiu-Jitsu sessions being the epitome of all success, as it's paramount! Ever since my time of joining here, the management, owner & our Coach were so welcoming. They helped build a community with our sparring mates to keep this environment of inspiration in us. Some days I felt there’s no way I could go further but they supported me to showcase my indomitable will & now I am making progress. The Coach (Matheus) always encouraged not only me but the students around me to motivate my fighting spirit & was able to inculcate the mentality of a champion. Kids & adults alike will be able to reap the benefits of these skills for their character development & lifelong healthy habits. I am so glad I’ve been accomplishing a fit strenuous regimen to better myself. Coach and the team are amazing with the kids and encourage them to reach their full potential. Our kids have progressed their Jiu Jitsu so much in the last couple of months, and their confidence on and off the mat has grown tremendously. Coach ensures all of the kids get equal attention and is able to display patience, empathy, and strong and compassionate leadership to the students. Both of our kids love it there, it’s great to see them go from being unenthusiastic about going to class at their previous school, to looking forward to each class at Rockstar.
This family is AMAZING!!! We love Austin and Maddie and how they make this training become such an amazing part of a child’s life. We have seen so much growth in our child since attending this school. The lessons are much more than just martial arts, Austin is teaching lessons about life. He teaches in such a way that any child can easily connect with him to understand these principles and learn to apply them in life. They have created an atmosphere of growth, respect and understanding of each other while being a good teammate! Also, they take the time to understand each student and what tools they need to succeed in martial arts in a very safe environment.
I came here hoping to find something my son could do when he was struggling to find his “groove” in little league. We’re one month in and I already see amazing things that go beyond our original goals for him. Even his teachers notice a difference in how he carries himself and how he behaves, and all the timelines trace back to when he started jiu-jitsu. They have reported to me that he’s more confident, more respectful and more engaged for longer periods of time. What he learns in his anti-bullying class here definitely stays with him and transfers into other places in his life. I’m so glad we brought him to Rockstar North Prosper!
No words can fully describe the dedication and love both Coach Austin and Maddy out into their students. They treat everyone with respect and discipline. After a little while we’ve clearly noticed how our daughter can focus more and pays attention in all of her day to day activities. This place is amazing! From the facility to the staff and the curriculum, it's all around AMAZING! We enrolled our 6 year old in Rockstar a little over a month ago, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results we've seen. Our son went into Rockstar after we decided to home school him and realized he needed social interaction, and we needed help at home with his behavior. I called around to many places in the area and either I couldn't get them to return my call or I was unable to find that the curriculum stuck to the respect/discipline standards we were searching for. I wasn't looking for a place that was going to coddle our son and have play time for a monthly fee, I wanted a real life practical skills class that was going to instill and drive home the points about respect and honor to our son. That is exactly what you'll find here! The owner Shiva is the sweetest and our son looks forward to going in and seeing her each class. He also thinks her husband is a "super cool tough dude"! He loves Coach Cody! He is so aware of his behavior here at home and in school and is making a huge effort to do his best. The best thing I love about Rockstar is their involvement with the students. Not only is William there for class but they are genuinely concerned with his well being inside and outside of class, and William cannot advance unless he is displaying his honorable demeanor both inside and outside of Rockstar. I would recommend this place to anyone!

AWESOME is the perfect word to describe Rockstar Martial Arts & Fitness (RMAF). We have been with the RMAF family for a year and a half now. I don't think you will find a more caring, more disciplined or respectful group of people than the staff at RMAF. They put in a lot of time and effort to make sure these kids get the training they need.
Josh instructs the kids classes as well as the adult Rockfit class. He is truly dedicated to his craft and it shows in how he interacts with each child. He's patient with the kids and adjusts where needed according to their individual skill set while still upholding the core values of RMAF.

The environment is fun, the people are great, and I look forward to going to each class. The entire staff has created a positive, fun environment in which to learn.

As with the adult classes, positive encouragement and attitudes are the key focus of the classes. My daughter loves being around Josh and Jarrod, and always talks about them.

Our family had searched for just the right place to enroll our children in Martial Arts. We tried out several places and then we found Rockstar Martial Arts & Fitness. I could list countless kind adjectives and shameless praise to persuade anyone to RUN don't walk to this gym! But honestly, all you have to do is walk in. The fresh, clean and brand new atmosphere immediately grabs you. If what you see if what you get - in this case - I can't see anyone saying "I don't want that!". Exactly the opposite - the owners and trainers are all hands on helping everyone to succeed. Nothing is hidden - you see and hear everything being taught to the students. The professional environment is both fun and serious. This is not a belt factory. Our children have learned so much from the teachers here. We look forward to having a long and lasting relationship with this excellent gym. It continues to be exactly what we were looking for.

I've been taking my son to Rockstar Martial Arts for almost a year. I looked at other places in the area and didn't feel like they were a "good fit" for him. I wanted him to gain confidence and feel comfortable where he was going to train. Not pressured or drilled with what he was being trained on. He needed to enjoy what he was doing. At Rockstar he's gained the confidence he needed and a love for the art. The trainers are great with the kids, I must admit, I'm impressed with how well they work with 10, 15 even 20 kids at a time! Josh has a way with kids from age 3 and older. He knows how to engage them. The kids truly seem happy to be there as well as the instructors. Shiva is also great to work with. She has a way of making you and your family feel like you belong. She loves what she does and it shows. You're also not treated as another transaction. I feel their goal is to make a positive impact on the students and to make them feel good about themselves. Just moved myself and my six year old son here after being at another school in Frisco for over a year. Day and night. This isn't some karate school that paints "MMA" on their windows. Top notch instruction which is critical but a VERY well run business too. This isn't a group of fighters who decided to open a school. These are well rounded experts in both martial arts AND business. My son begs us to take him to class every day now where before it was like pulling teeth. Shiva Boecker and her team are (pardon the phrase), Rockstars and I would not hesitate to recommend this school. I went from watching my son train at the other place to signing up myself as well. For those with kids, this is a very safe environment where the children are trained hard but with great care and while learning martial arts are learning things like respecting their families too.

My daughter has been training here for about 5 months. Her teachers, Josh and Jarrod, focus very hard on reminding the kids about the meaning of respect and how to treat others. As with the adult classes, positive encouragement and attitudes are the key focus of the classes. My daughter loves being around Josh and Jarrod, and always talks about them.

I've been taking my son to Rockstar Martial Arts for almost a year. I looked at other places in the area and didn't feel like they were a "good fit" for him. I wanted him to gain confidence and feel comfortable where he was going to train. Not pressured or drilled with what he was being trained on. He needed to enjoy what he was doing. At Rockstar he's gained the confidence he needed and a love for the art. The trainers are great with the kids, I must admit, I'm impressed with how well they work with 10, 15 even 20 kids at a time! Josh has a way with kids from age 3 and older. He knows how to engage them. The kids truly seem happy to be there as well as the instructors. Shiva is also great to work with. She has a way of making you and your family feel like you belong. She loves what she does and it shows. You're also not treated as another transaction. I feel their goal is to make a positive impact on the students and to make them feel good about themselves. Rockstar is a great place for everyone; experienced, inexperienced, and for anyone looking for a hobby or looking to get fit. And most importantly (for me) it's CLEAN!!! :)
My family has had an outstanding experience at Rockstar Martial Arts and Fitness. I enrolled my daughters last year as a way to get them to be more active. The instructors are super friendly and patient. Since they started last year, not only have my girls mastered key martial arts techniques, they also have had a noticeable increase in their self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-respect. I have also noticed an increase in the level of focus, determination, and self-discipline that has carried on outside of class and into school and home. I also started taking kick-boxing classes at Rockstar a few months ago and absolutely love it. It is a fun, high energy class that has added variety to my workout regime and has helped me shed a few pounds. The instructors and other participants are always very motivational and supportive throughout class.
Wonderful place to help teach your kids MMA skills, self confidence and respect for others. The instructors teach the kids that respect to your family, friends, and others is very important. I enrolled my son hoping that the MMA classes would help him focus on becoming more disciplined with his school work, specifically quality and taking his time to do things right, not just quick. My son was having issues with his school work due to trying to rush to get things done so he could be the first one to finish, wanting to be the first in line, etc. My son loves the MMA skills that he is learning, looks forward to his classes, and he tells me all the time how he learns things from Josh, his instructor, each week. We have seen a significant improvement in his attitude for school work and wanting to do things correctly and to the best of his ability. I would highly recommend Rockstar to anyone!
We have nothing but great things to say about Rockstar Martial Arts & Fitness! All of the instructors are very hands on, very attentive and very knowledgeable. You can definitely see that they love what they are doing! Our daughter have worked with every instructors and even though she has only been attending for less than a year, she feels as though she has been there for years! Even in the larger class, you still feel like you are getting the one-on-one training because the instructors are very patient and doesn't give you the "you don't belong here" type of vibe. Our daughter's confidence has gone up since attending Rockstar and her attitude has also changed in a positive way, which helps a lot with the other sports that she is involved in. We highly recommend Rockstar! Thank you for everything you do and for loving what you do! Couldn't have picked a better place!
I've been doing Rockfit classes for about 2 months and its been an awesome experience. The instructors, Ryan and Josh, do a great job of organizing, educating and motivating the class. Both are approachable and happy to share their extensive martial arts knowledge. In a short time I have learned a lot and improved my cardio and strength.
Class is organized into two main sections following an initial warm up period. The punching bag section emphasizes proper form while maintaining a rapid pace. The circuit training section brings a wide variety of exercises to strengthen various muscle groups. They vary the workouts, so you don't feel like you're in a rut, and each instructor has their own style which keeps it interesting.
I've yet to do the Muay Thai or Jiu Jitsu classes so I cannot give a review of them. But I've seen some of the Kids Martial Arts classes and can say they look to be enjoying them. The facilities are always clean and equipment is maintained. If you are interested, talk to Shiva and she'll give you all the details.

They are teaching the techniques they need and more important they always make sure to have "Mat Chats" to instill disicpline and confidence. I starting going as well and get a great workout in. And I am learning the art of muay thai kickboxing and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
